hi, was just curious to find out if static holds work the slow or fast twitch muscle fibres?

Hi Fedr1,
It really depends on the duration and intensity of the holds. But when you are working max strength, you are typically maxing out all of your fibres, regardless of type. Pavel Tsatsouline made an interesting point a few years ago that sprinters and Olympic lifters are very fibre specific athletes, since those sports are speed oriented. He said that fibre type is much less important for powerlifters, since the type of strength they develop is much slower, so you have time to recruit all your muscle fibres. On rings, the type of strength being displayed is more similar to powerlifting, so I think Pavel's point applies.
I hope this helps,
Tyler
