Hi All,
New to this Forum, thought maybe someone out there could answer a question for me and I think I have a new twist to mounting your rings. First my question:
I have to separate mounts at home for my rings on is two eye bolts approx 25 or 30 foot high in a tree branch with dynamic climbing rope hanging down to a carabiner low enough to then put the straps for my rings through the carabiner. I haven't actually tried this set up yet as i just completed it and need to get the biners set right etc. etc. etc. but does anyone know how the dynamic rope will affect my workout? There will be quite a bit of give and bounce in the rings vs. using just the webbing normally used.
Also, as for my usual set up which I currently use (I'll have to post pics later if anyone would like to see them), I mounted two 1in (inside diameter) eye bolts in a stud in the ceiling of my garage (as many of you have as a set up) however, I found that a 3/4 in black iron nipple (you can get in various lengths at home depot) will slide perfectly through the two eye bolts, cap the ends with threaded caps to keep it from wandering out of the eye bolts, now you can adjust the width for those wide grip pull ups until you can work yourself into making them wide grip using just your strength, and it also allows for swapping out various other equipment like hang boards (for any other climbers out there) etc....
