Welcome to the first magazine devoted to Kettlebell
training. With all of the kettlebell clubs sprouting up around the
nation and the increasing popularity of kettlebell training, it is
time for a kettlebell magazine. The Seattle Russian Kettlebell Club
was founded only a few months ago when Pavel Tsatsouline visited Seattle.
He delivered two excellent seminars and convinced several of us, to
start a Kettlebell club. Over the previous months, clubs had been
forming around the nation, including Philadelphia and Colorado. We
decided to form our own club and work hard to spread Pavel's evil
training ideas.
In the first few months, we have already held several meetings. We
have had about 15 different people attend the meetings, which is a
great start. So far, the exchange of ideas has been the most incredible
benefit of setting up the club. Members of the Dragon Door discussion
board know what I am talking about, but it is different in person.
Training with a group of partners is very special because it seems
to open up a floodgate of ideas. As a result of the people I have
met, I have started taking kickboxing and submission wrestling classes,
studied Somatics, practiced Olympic lifting and more. Our club is
even going to be featured in a major newspaper.
Organizing a kettlebell club is very easy to
do. The best way to start is to make a post on the Dragon
Door forum and get together with some people. Putting up a website
is another helpful tool. Setting up a mailing list is probably the
most convenient method of communication. If you need help setting
one up, I can help. We hope
that all of the strong men and women of Seattle come out to join us
to learn the best form of training in existence. Furthermore, I hope
that others form their own Kettlebell clubs. With formal competitions
looming on the horizon, this is the perfect time to get started!
Sincerely,
Tyler Hass
